GO-ESSP postponed until Fall 2008 per Steve Hankin
3/25/2008 5:26pm Hello GO-ESSP community, The GO-ESSP Workshop for 2008 has been postponed until the Fall -- September or October. The number of conflicts with other meetings, also scheduled for June 11-13 this year, has proven to be unacceptably high. In order to relieve the pressure caused by these conflicts the GO-ESSP organizing committee has decided to postpone the 2008 meeting until Fall. As soon as the new meeting date is firm, we will follow up with a new Call For Participation sent out via this email list. The Fall 2008 GO-ESSP meeting will take place in Seattle, as announced previously. We apologize for any inconvenience that this shift in schedules may have caused. The GO-ESSP Organizing Committee

Abstract submitted
METAFOR - Common Metadata for Climate Modelling Digital Repositories GO-ESSP Spetember 2008, Seattle, WA, USA Abstract The main objective of METAFOR is to develop a Common Information Model (CIM) to describe the models that produce climate data by building on existing standards, such as NMM and Curator, to ensure that key data and model distinctions can be shared and understood between users of different scientific repositories. METAFOR will develop, deploy, and evaluate a prototype infrastructure that will allow key data and model types to be found and compared between holdings at partner sites. The impact of this project will not only be on the European contribution for planning for AR5, but also on existing scientific activities which exploit the partner repositories.
