Bryan,

I have looked at the platform items in the latest version of the questionnaire.  I have a couple of questions:

a) At this point the centres have to enter at least one platform before they can input any simulations.  Is there a way to tie the platform to a simulation? 

case 1: there are two platforms entered.  50% of a centre's simulations are run on one platform and 50% on the other.  Does the simulation pages allow the user to select the platform?

case 2: the centre actually ran on many systems but they only enter one.  will all the entered simulations be associated with the one entered platform?

b) I was surprised by the interconnect type and the processor information.  That does seem overkill to me.  Originally, Curator was looking to capture platform information for both reproducability and also interoperability. None of those criteria came up.  I can add them to the Curator ontology, but wanted to make sure they are going to stay in the questionnaire before I do so.

Hi Sylvia

If you look at the simulation page in the questionnaire, you'll see if forces you to choose a platform and a model ... per simulation. I think that deals with both cases easily.

Wrt the information. One person's noise is another person's signal :-) That said, I wouldn't rush to add anything from the platform to your ontology.
