Excel spreadsheet of CMIP5 variable mapping to components

Mapping variables which have obvious associations with particular components. For some variables it is not obvious which component created them, we need to ask questions about these (probably about 50 of them) Gerry to go through the CMIP5 variables to decide which ones are ambiguous. In the end we will find out what variables models actually produced from the netCDF data files. Then we can have a suplementary questionnaire to link the controversial variables to components.

Excel spreadsheet of CMIP5 variable mapping to components

Excel spreadsheet contains a first pass of the CMIP5 variables in an attempt to associate them with the mindmap components as well as highlight any ambiguous variables. Currentlyn the first third of these have been done. Need to complete as well as go through answers with Metafor group/domain experts.

Additionally, an extra column has been added to the spreadsheet indicating whether the CMIP5 variable names have an associated CF name.

I have added a completed excel spreadsheet to the repository that documents the CMIP5 data outputs and the software components (from the current mindmaps) that these data outputs map to. Additionnally I have kept track of the current status of CF standard names in relation to the CMIP5 variable being asked for (work ongoing with Alison (BADC)). The repository link is:

I have highlighted in the 'component' column (in red) those elements where I think we may need more info from the relevant scientists submitting data. This will need further review.
